Poster art goes political
Hey, are you all ready? Soon it´s time to vote new members to European Parliament. In Finland election day is Sunday, 7th of June. I´m so excited already!
What comes to the marketing posters of candidates, at least in Finland, they used to be ugly and boring. You know the style - candidates pictures look like cheapest passport photos, weird fonts and bad graphic design.
So, today I almost fell with my bicycle, when I saw this poster of Ukko Metsola, he is one of the candidates from The National Coalition Party. Finally, there is cool and modern poster of a candidate. It´s sharp, clean, fresh and with nice layout. And Ukko himself, looks like he really wants to say something to you. This is the way to do it.
I did some detective work to find out, that guys behind this poster are local heroes, photographer Kimmo Syväri and graphic designer Jarno Luotonen. Well done, guys! See you at polling station...
